Welcome to Seoul’s delicious adventure! This scavenger hunt will take you on a journey through the city’s vibrant street food scene. Use the clues below to find the specific treats, photograph your finds, and enjoy the unique flavors of Seoul!
Goal: Find all 10 street food items and collect their photos as proof. Bonus points for trying them all!
Instructions:
- Start at Gwangjang Market (광장시장).
- Follow the clues in order. Some clues may require a little exploring!
- Take a clear photo of each food item you find.

Clues:
- (Gwangjang Market): My crispy exterior hides a savory, pancake-like interior. I’m a Gwangjang Market staple, often served with kimchi. What am I? (Bindaetteok – Bindae-tteok)
- (Myeongdong): I’m a sweet, fluffy treat, often served on a stick and dipped in a variety of toppings. Find me amidst the bustling crowds of this shopping paradise. What am I? (Hotteok – Hotteok)
- (Insadong): I’m a traditional Korean rice cake, often chewy and sweet, sometimes filled with sweet red bean paste. Find me near the traditional crafts and tea houses. What am I? (Tteok – variety of Tteok)
- (Near a university): Students love my spicy, savory, and satisfying goodness, often served in a cup. I’m perfect for a quick and cheap meal. What am I? (Tteokbokki – Tteokbokki)
- (Near a Subway Station): I’m a savory, chewy fish cake, often served on a stick. Look for me near a busy transit hub. What am I? (Odeng/Eomuk – Odeng/Eomuk)
- (Hongdae area): I’m a sweet and colorful treat made with a variety of fruits and whipped cream. Look for them in the trendy streets near the art scene. What am I? (Fruit skewers/ parfaits – choose a visually interesting one!)
- (Namdaemun Market): I’m a savory, often spicy, and incredibly versatile street food. You might find me wrapped in a kimbap or enjoyed on its own. What am I? (Kimbap – Kimbap)
- (Itaewon): Inspired by international flavors, I’m a fusion delight, often involving meat, cheese, and a variety of sauces. Look for a food stall catering to a wider range of tastes. What am I? (Korean-style hot dog – choose a visually interesting one!)
- (Gangnam): I’m a crispy, golden-brown snack, often served with a flavorful dipping sauce. Look for me in the upscale yet diverse food scene of Gangnam. What am I? (Twigim – variety of Twigim)
- (Your choice – Anywhere in Seoul): This is your wildcard! Find ANY other Korean street food that you find appealing. Get creative! What is it? (Your chosen street food – write the name here)
